Univision Journalist

Jorge Ramos has been the anchor for Noticiero Univision since 1986. He has been a witness to some of the most important news stories of the last three decades, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the disintegration of the former Soviet Union, 9/11, and the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina.

He also hosts “Al Punto”, Univision’s weekly public affairs program offering in-depth analysis of the week’s top stories and exclusive interviews with newsmakers. He writes a weekly column that is distributed to more than 40 newspapers in the United States and Latin America and is the author of fourteen books and bestsellers.

He has won ten Emmy Awards and in 2017 he received the Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in political journalism for “advancing the conversation about what divides us as a country.” A survey conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center found that Ramos is the second most recognized Latino leader in the country. As Forbes magazine reported, “Ramos carries near biblical authority, at least in the eyes of his nearly 2 million nightly viewers.”
